SPARK is a dynamic and growing not-for-profit development organization with 80 staff members that helps young entrepreneurs to start or grow their own businesses.SPARK is achieving its mission by organizing business plan competitions, business skills training, SME coaching and mentoring, business incubation, SME financing, intensive higher vocational summer courses, curriculum development and quality assurance at universities and higher vocational education institutions.

SPARK focuses on small and growing businesses, in post conflict states such as, and not limited to: Burundi, Kosovo, Liberia, Mali, Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Somalia and South Sudan.

Part of Spark’s solution includes an investment fund named FGR IGNITE.

The FGR IGNITE fund is a SME debt/equity investment instrument, managed by SPARK’s Investment Advisor’s team.

Spark is currently looking to fill the position of:

Investment Managerbased in local office

Tasks and responsibilities

· Manage Screening process of potential investment.

· Manage/Maintain local partners and networks.

· Conduct financial and operational due diligence.

· Create necessary financial models and valuation to analyze potential investment.

· Negotiate Investment Terms.

· Prepare Investment documents.

· Manage local investment advisory committee.

· Present the deal to Investment Committee.

· Manage post investment technical assistances process.

· Manage local investment team.

Requirements and skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in investment with financial and operational due diligence experiences in emerging economies.
  • Intuitive understanding of local investment climate with in-depth knowledge of local financial, regulatory and operational environment.
  • Previous deal structuring, deal negotiation and post investment monitoring experiences.
  • Practical experience of doing business in post conflict and fragile state environment.
  • Communication skills: Ability to concisely analyze and formulate an argument to communicate with colleagues, investors and portfolio organization.
  • English and Local language fluency is required.
