The Civil Society delegations to UNITAID Board are seeking a new Liaison Officer to coordinate the communications and representation activities of Board members representing NGOs and affected Communities on the Board of UNITAID. UNITAID is a multilateral institution using long-term, sustainable funding to impact the market for and increase access to medicines, diagnostics, and prevention commodities, for HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria. The post is hosted at Oxfam GB, and is a fixed term contract to 31st January 2015.
The Liaison Officer role is a varied and exciting post, coordinating a vibrant coalition of activists working in global health. The Liaison Officer will coordinate the NGOs and Communities communications with their extremely broad and diverse constituencies, and work to make the four Board members accountable to the people they represent. This involves tasks as varied as coordinating consultation meetings, managing the delegations’ project funding, coordinating accountability processes e.g. recruitment, and providing policy/advocacy support to the delegations on access to medicines issues.
