Requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Advanced degree in law, economics, international relations, political science, diplomacy, social science or public administration
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience
- Sound knowledge of public anti-corruption mechanisms
- Knowledge of courtroom proceedings and criminal law and procedure
- Knowledge of international legal procedure standards and instruments
- Experience in project design, implementation and management
- Demonstrable organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, to include the ability to liaise with diverse interlocutors
- Political sensitivity and judgment
- Strong drafting skills
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities
- Knowledge of anti-corruption initiatives in Central, Eastern or South-Eastern Europe, especially regarding the promotion and development of economic transparency in the public and private sectors (desired)
- Previous work experience with international organizations (desired)
- Practice as lawyer, prosecutor or judge (desired)
Tasks and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Rule of Law and Human Rights Department, the Anti-corruption Adviser has the following specific responsibilities:
- Formulates anti-corruption policies and strategies;
- Manages the implementation of economic transparency reform initiatives;
- Advises on rules and regulations, including implementation, in the field of anti-corruption/economic transparency, especially in relation to public procurement, economic crime and anti-corruption bodies;
- Maintains liaison with officials and other stakeholders in Serbia involved in anti-corruption initiatives, as well as in initiatives against economic crime;
- Organizes activities for the promotion and development of economic transparency in the public and private sectors and for the implementation of legislation in the areas within the Mission's mandate;
- Maintains contact with diplomatic community, international organizations and non-governmental organizations on reform in the area of anti-corruption/economic transparency;
- Manages the Department's Economic Crime and Anti-corruption Section and supervises its three staff;
- Performs other duties as required.
