Serbia: Anti-Corruption Adviser, OSCE Mission to Serbia

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced degree in law, economics, international relations, political science, diplomacy, social science or public administration
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience
  • Sound knowledge of public anti-corruption mechanisms
  • Knowledge of courtroom proceedings and criminal law and procedure
  • Knowledge of international legal procedure standards and instruments
  • Experience in project design, implementation and management
  • Demonstrable organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, to include the ability to liaise with diverse interlocutors
  • Political sensitivity and judgment
  • Strong drafting skills
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities
  • Knowledge of anti-corruption initiatives in Central, Eastern or South-Eastern Europe, especially regarding the promotion and development of economic transparency in the public and private sectors (desired)
  • Previous work experience with international organizations (desired)
  • Practice as lawyer, prosecutor or judge (desired)

Tasks and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Rule of Law and Human Rights Department, the Anti-corruption Adviser has the following specific responsibilities:

  1. Formulates anti-corruption policies and strategies;
  2. Manages the implementation of economic transparency reform initiatives;
  3. Advises on rules and regulations, including implementation, in the field of anti-corruption/economic transparency, especially in relation to public procurement, economic crime and anti-corruption bodies;
  4. Maintains liaison with officials and other stakeholders in Serbia involved in anti-corruption initiatives, as well as in initiatives against economic crime;
  5. Organizes activities for the promotion and development of economic transparency in the public and private sectors and for the implementation of legislation in the areas within the Mission's mandate;
  6. Maintains contact with diplomatic community, international organizations and non-governmental organizations on reform in the area of anti-corruption/economic transparency;
  7. Manages the Department's Economic Crime and Anti-corruption Section and supervises its three staff;
  8. Performs other duties as required.
