Position Title: Communications Officer - Full-time position
Location / Department: Mission East Copenhagen office, COMMS Team
Responsible to: Deputy Managing Director
Length of contract:1 Year contract. with possibility for a permanent contract depending on performances
Overall Responsibility:
To provide Communication services for Mission East in the form of PR, Event Assistance, Production of Communication materials (brochures, concepts, letters, reports, text, applications and concepts) both personally and cooperation with subcontractors - in order to increase Team capacity to raise the Awareness, Branding and Fundraising of Mission East.
Key tasks:
PR and Communication materials:
• Production of PR, online and offline – video, photos and texts
• Production of Communication Materials online and offline
• Create articles etc. for publications
• Liaison with journalist, editorial newsrooms and other stakeholders
• Supply PR materials to stakeholders online and offline
• Ensure the coherence of processes, procedures and proofreading in relation to creating communication material and campaigns
• As part of the Communications Team; Processing PR campaigns as well as fundraising campaigns
• Create campaign materials, manage media and production
Event management:
• Management of all aspects of communications involvement in events, meetings, presentations, camps and exhibitions – including planning, logistics, administration and general preparation.
• Ensuring legal compliance in personal activities
To contribute:
• in developing the Mission East profile and brand
• in developing the Mission East funds under management
Selection Criteria:
Qualifications required
• Academic qualification to degree level in communications / journalism / fundraising or a similar field.
• Hands-on knowledge of the NGO branch, development and emergency aid.
Experience required:
• Extensive experience in communications/journalism and/or fundraising
• Experience from a major newspaper, television network etc.
• Experience working in the not-for-profit sector would be an advantage.
• Analytical and research experience would be an advantage.
Necessary Skills and Competencies:
• Fluency in Danish and English, written as well as spoken
• Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Good team-working skills, combined with self-motivation and an ability to work independently.
• Resourceful and insightful with an ability to respond quickly to change
• Reliability, flexibility and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Excellent people and communication skills.
