Overall objective of the position: Under the supervision of the Scientific and Technical Director, the senior Nutrition & Health advisor will have to assure coordination and strategic coherence of the Nutrition & Health sector and technical development of it. More precisely, the senior advisor will be in charge of the following missions:
To coordinate the Nutrition & Health sector activities, and to support the Nutrition & Health sector strategy roll out (in collaboration with ACF-IN teams and external partners)
- To participate to the development of the country strategies (in collaboration with the Pools)
- To support the implementation of the Nutrition & Health priorities (annual plan of actions)
- To assure the Nutrition & Health sector budget monitoring
- To organize and moderate Nutrition & Health team technical meetings (technical exchanges, country experience feed-backs, research…) and with ACF-IN
- To produce andcirculate different internal Nutrition and health reports
- A particular monitoring of the health aspect of the strategy is needed during the period of this contract
To control and to report Nutrition & Health activities, with monitoring indicators, and to assure coherence and reliability of reports (harmonization of practices, creation of management tools, reporting)
- To ensure development and respect of technical standards
- To promote external evaluations of Nutrition and health programs, in order to ensure transparency of ACF operations
To promote technical development in Nutrition & Health sector: research, development and lessons learning process
- To coordinate the research activities for the Nutrition & Health sector (organize scientific monitoring, production of a newsletter, participation to forums and conferences)
- To present and formalize capitalization of ACF experience on Nutrition & Health, and lead ad hoc studies (according to plan of actions)
- To provide expertise to Nutrition & Health operational technical referent in the understanding of technical innovations and challenges in Nutrition and health (following ACF-IN technical strategy, local and national)
To communicate internaly and to represent ACF externaly
- To contribute to Nutrition & Health sector related advocacy activities
- To participate to conferences and symposium to represent ACF and the Nutrition & Health sector
- To represent ACF Nutrition & Health technical expertise towards donors, research centers, universities, private enterprises, coordination group, national and international organizations
- To take part to the ACF-IN network (coordination in Nutrition & Health)
- To produce and to disseminate technical documents (books, technical policies, research, …) in the Nutrition & Health sector : newsletter production; update the publications on internet website
- To prepare and to participate to international technical meetings (linked with ACF-IN network)
- To represent ACF in international technical working groups (Nutrition cluster, IMTF, CMAM forum, HSS task force …)
- To contribute to Nutrition & Health events
- To contribute to donors approach in Nutrition & Health sector
To contribute to the selection, training, management ofNutrition & Health human ressources
- To participate to the recruitment of new colleagues
- To validate technical content of HQ training and regional technical workshops
- To select and to supervise Nutrition & Health team (employees, volunteers, interns)
- To ensure briefings and debriefings of country directors and technical supervisor
Qualification and previous experience: Owner of academic degree in Nutrition, Health or Public Health, you have significant experience, at least 10 years, in international relief, including 5 years of experience in the field and 3 years in coordination position withteam management. An experience of coordination and management in a HQ of an international organization is also requested. Autonomy, relational and writing skills, French and English fluent.
Status: Fixed-term contract (8 months), provided by ACF according to the French legislation - Full time
Annual Salary : Salary between 39K€ and 46K€ gross over 13 months (to justify), 19 days of extra leaves (RTT)/ year, restaurant vouchers of 8 € (60% covered by ACF), complementary health insurance (covered 80% by ACF), refund of 50% of public transportation fees
Starting Date: mid of December 2014
Specific conditions and skill: Seated position extended, oral expression, work on screen. The post requires national and international travels.
