Role and Responsibilities
To support the Programmes team to raise sustainable levels of programme funding from institutional donors and to improve the organisational learning capability. Grant management support to Head of Country Programmes (HCPs) with concept papers, proposals, modification requests, and interim and final reports. Support Programme Funding Managers (PFMs) in country programmes to deliver programme funding targets. Sector Advisor and Emergency Response Teams support possible as well as other agreed work outputs.

Medair Headquarters (HQ) provides operational guidance for country programmes and activities, along with both technical and compassionate support for our relief workers. Within our headquarters, we are also responsible for promoting the work of Medair to the world, to raise and manage the funds needed to run our life-saving and sustaining programmes. Our headquarters teams are also responsible for recruiting international and HQ staff, and like our field teams, we are committed to serve the world’s most vulnerable with practical and compassionate care.

Key Activity Areas
Institutional Grants
- Contribute to the timely submission of accurate proposals and reports to institutional donors especially USG (USAID / OFDA, ECHO, DFID, SWS and SDC).
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the above institutional donors and share knowledge when appropriate.
- Technical support provided to Programmes team on donor compliance and reporting including new tools and formats, for HQ and field.
Informal Learning
- To engage and support the roll out of technological support systems to support training and equipping of staff to further the pursuit of excellence in programming funding.
- Research and promote new programme funding opportunities throughout Medair and the development of internal programme funding guides, resources and fact sheets for use within the International Department.
Learning and Opportunities
- To cooperate and coordinate with the Donor Relations Manager and Information Services dept. for the Medair E-Library and new PORTFOLIO MIS.
Other
- Some availability for support to the Sector Advisor and Emergency Response teams as necessary.
Qualifications
- Formation de niveau universitaire
- Diplôme d’études supérieures dans le domaine de l’aide humanitaire un atout
Languages
- Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written)
- Working knowledge of French (spoken and written) desirable
Experience / Competencies
- At least 2 years working in a humanitarian organisation
- At least 1 years’ grant writing / management across multiple institutional donors
- Field and HQ experience desirable
- Experience of training or teaching in the NGO context
- Experience of Management Information System (s)
- Proven experience of grant writing for main institutional donors: DFID, OFDA, CdB and ECHO
- Experience of engagement with donor bodies at a programmatic level desirable
- Capacity to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

- At least one year of professional experience in a relevant field (more experience preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written)
