About us
Christian Aid tackles poverty at its source, challenging and changing the causes that keep poor people poor. And while one day soon we will end injustices like climate change, that won’t help the farmer whose crops are failing today. We need to help people adapt now and for tomorrow – and we need you to help us do it.
About the role
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to contribute to Christian Aid’s impact on poverty, by providing programme management support and communications for the DFID funded CHSJ PPA programme – a global programme carrying out work in 7 countries in three regions (Africa, Asia/Middle East and Latin America). You will focus on developing and maintaining global programme procedures and systems and ensuring they are used effectively. You will increase programme staff confidence and capability to pursue CA’s approach to resilient livelihoods and help them feed lessons into future work and decisions.
Working as part of Christian Aid’s Large and Complex Programmes Division (with strong links to the Humanitarian Division), your role will span across all Christian Aid country programmes working on resilience with a specific focus on 7 countries and regions receiving CHSJ PPA funds. You’ll be working closely with country based staff to ensure the effective implementation and reporting of the resilience programmes funded by the CHSJ and general PPAs. You will provide administrative, reporting and management support to countries working on resilience.
About you
You’ll have sound experience of working on major institutional donor funded projects. You will understand the complexity of working with teams and partners located in different parts of the world, and know what it takes to deliver high quality work and perform to tight deadlines. You’ll have a background in overseas development, a good knowledge of resilience and DRR. But most importantly you will be able to motivate and support teams working with you to deliver their best.
