An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Evaluation Officer to join our Policy and Programme Strategies department.
The Evaluation Officer will be responsible for managing, commissioning and quality assuring project and programme baselines, mid-term and end-term evaluations. This will include support for, and coordination of, externally conducted evaluations, as well as supporting initiatives for learning from evaluation currently being developed by the team. There may also be some areas of work on supporting development of any new evaluation approaches needed in the next strategic period.
A good knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles is essential, as is an understanding of programmatic work in international development. Sightsavers' programme portfolio focuses on eye health, inclusive education and social inclusion, so experience or demonstrable interest in one of these areas is also desirable.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in a relevant social science subject and demonstrable experience of monitoring and evaluation experience. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are essential, as well as excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and good organisational skills.
Please see the job description for full details of the role.
