United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Research internship

Organization: International NGO Training and Research Centre
Country: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Closing date: 26 Sep 2014

Civil society is ‘us’ – citizens coming together to improve the world. From small grassroots groups to large international charities, informal people’s movements to faith groups, unions to social enterprise, INTRAC has, since 1991, helped civil society around the world become more effective by holistically carrying out capacity building and training, research and knowledge sharing, and organisational development and consulting.

We are looking for a research intern for a period of three to four months, on a part-time (minimum 3 days per week) or full-time basis, starting by mid-October 2014. We offer practical insight into the research, training and convening work of a busy organisation which supports civil society worldwide.

Main tasks will include assisting the Head of Research with expanding a work stream on use of evidence and research by civil society practitioners, including assisting with finalising training materials, monitoring debates and trends in use of evidence, and marketing our work in this field. A second key activity will be to provide support for a workshop in November on civil society sustainability, including logistical tasks and assistance with reporting.
