Trachoma Programme Manager
Location: Bensheim, Germany
Contract Duration: 2 years
Contract Start:As soon as possible

Objective:
The Trachoma Programme Manager is responsible for supporting the management, coordination of monitoring, and implementation of CBM Trachoma programmes and for Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) programmes where applicable reporting to the CBM NTD Director.

Main tasks

  • Actively contribute to the development, regular revision, monitoring and evaluation of CBM’s overall NTD strategy
  • Coordinate the trachoma, onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis (LF) programme development in collaboration with the Programme Development department at International Office level
  • Monitor the trachoma, onchocerciasis and NTD programme implementation, coordinate reporting along specific donor requirements
  • Collaborate with the eye care advisors and medical eye health advisory working group on programme development and implementation
  • Coordinate the communication between trachoma and onchocerciasis programme partners, CBM Member Associations, Regional Offices and other relevant stakeholders on all issues related to programme planning, implementation and monitoring
  • Support to the planning and development of comprehensive trachoma, onchocerciasis with a key focus on integrated disease control, government ownership and programme sustainability
  • Coordinate the development of trachoma programme concepts and proposals
  • Ensure proper monitoring and quality control of trachoma and onchocerciasis programmes
  • Provide efficient and effective coordination and relationship management for trachoma and onchocerciasis programme related stakeholders (donors, government partners, CBM Member Associations, Regional Offices, other NGOs)
  • Strengthen networking and relationships between these various stakeholders
  • Represent CBM on senior stakeholder field visits
  • Identify possible programmatic opportunities to support Member Associations in securing designated funding for trachoma and onchocerciasis programmes
  • Identify, evaluate and address capacity development needs of trachoma and onchocerciasis implementation partners, various donors and CBM staff in the area of NTD work
  • Assist the development and review of regional NTD strategies
  • Develop implementation plans
  • Provide guidance in trachoma and onchocerciasis programme for relevant project teams in the country and regional office team

    Professional Profile and Requirements**
  • At least 3 years proven work experience in NTD related programmes
  • Degree in Community Development, Social Science, Public Health, Tropical Medicine or equivalent knowledge gained through working expertise
  • Sound experience and knowledge of project cycle management
  • Good financial management skills
  • Sound understanding of international trends and standards in trachoma, onchocerciasis and NTD work
  • Fluency in both English and French
  • Knowledge of German, Portuguese and/or Arabic would be an asset
  • Computer literacy, including experience with use of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
