United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Humanitarian Response and Cash adviser

Organization: Save the Children UK
Country: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Closing date: 24 Sep 2014

About Save the Children

Save the Children’s origins lie in emergency response and it has remained central to our work ever since. Our approach integrates our emergency and development work, through the medium of our country programmes, which we expect to have the expertise for both types of work. With the increasing frequency and severity of emergencies world-wide the organisation is in the process of increasing its standby capacity to support programmes.

Cash transfer programming (CTP) within Save the Children has grown more than 800% in the past 5 years with CTP now being implemented across sectors in more than 50% of our programmes. To face this growing opportunity to improve our impact at a field level, Save the Children is scaling up resources in two core areas;

  • in operational support to the accountable and effective delivery;
  • and in technical support to the programme design and analysis.

About the role

The post holder will lead Save the Children UK’s operational support to the continued development of CTP within our responses, working closely with the humanitarian technical unit to build and strengthen systems, tools and approaches.

You have excellent planning, and coordination skills with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
