As a key member of our Policy & Public Affairs Team, you will be responsible for positioning World Vision UK as a credible partner with the UK Government, NGO networks and other key stakeholders on maternal, new-born and child health programming. Ultimately, you will play your part in increasing our impact, income and influence to bring real change in the lives of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable children..

Working in collaboration with other World Vision UK teams (including grants , programme effectiveness and country engagement), you will provide technical advice and support to increase new grant programmes, engage with major donors and supporters and provide expertise to ensure the quality of maternal, new-born and child health (MNCH) programmes. You will also shareyour expertise to build capacity and improveing design, monitoring and evaluation by developing the evidence base on MNCH. You will also have the chance to innovate as you support the development of pilot programmes.

A recognised qualification (such as a Masters degree) in public health, nutrition or a health related discipline is ideal. Extensive experience in developing and supporting community health systems for MNCH in developing countries, including fragile, conflict-led and emergency contexts will be necessary. Up-to-date knowledge of the MNCH sector along with a working knowledge of Global Fund or TB programming and/or the WASH sector is highly desirable. A strong understanding of development theory, policy and practice with an awareness of child rights and social inclusion, particularly relating to child nutrition and social accountability, will be a distinct advantage.

Due to the nature of the role, frequent travel (up to 20% a year) will be expected as well as travel once a week to either the London or Milton Keynes office, depending on where you are ultimately based.
