As a key member of our Policy & Public Affairs Team, your role as Senior Child Nutrition and Food Security Programmes Adviser is an extremely important one. As an experienced development professional, you will be responsible for positioning World Vision UK as a credible partner with the UK Government, NGO networks and others on child nutrition and nutrition sensitive food security programming. As such, increasing impact, income and influence to enable real change in the lives of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable children is absolutely vital.

Working in collaboration with other World Vision UK teams (including those engaged in programme effectiveness, grants andcountry engagement), you will be instrumental in providing technical advice and support to increase new grant programmes, engage with major donors and supporters and provide expertise on the quality of our nutrition and related food security programmes. There will also be plenty of opportunity to share your expertise and build capacity to improve our design, monitoring and evaluation. You will also develop and usethe evidence base on nutrition and food security, drawing on World Vision’s programming experience and best practice.

A recognised qualification (such as a Masters degree) in nutrition or public health or a health related discipline would be ideal for this role. Extensive experience in developing and supporting community based nutrition sensitive programming and/or climate smart food security programming in developing countries, including fragile and emergency contexts, will be necessary. Up-to-date knowledge of nutrition along with a strong knowledge of development theory, policy and practice in relation to child rights and social inclusion is highly desirable.

Due to the nature of this role, you will travel frequently (up to 20% a year) to our programmes, as well as travel once a week to either the London or Milton Keynes office, depending on where you are ultimately based, to connect with colleagues.
