SPARK develops higher education and entrepreneurship to empower young, ambitious people to lead their conflict-affected societies into prosperity. SPARK is a dynamic and growing not-for-profit development organisation with 80 staff members that helps young entrepreneurs start or grow their own businesses. SPARK is achieving its mission by organising business plan competitions, business skills training, SME coaching and mentoring, business incubation, SME financing, intensive higher vocational summer courses, curriculum development and quality assurance at universities and higher vocational education institutions.
SPARK is currently looking for a:
Communications Intern
The Intern will focus on producing and editing quality content for a range of SPARK communication media, including the SPARK website, social media presence and newsletter. The Communications intern will also provide PR and communications support for relevant upcoming events; conferences and/or seminars. In addition, the Communications intern will help out with everyday tasks around the Amsterdam office. SPARK offers the Intern the opportunity to work with young people from various countries, and to challenge him/herself within the context of a vibrant and growing NGO.
Main tasks and Responsibilities:
· Assist in producing and editing up-to-date content for the SPARK website, social media and newsletter.
· Assist in planning and executing online media strategies;
· Contribute to the enhancement of the new SPARK website; story collection, assistance with SEO
· Provide communications/PR support for relevant upcoming events; conferences, seminars
Requirements and Skills:
· BA or MA degree (or other relevant education)
· Excellent English language skills
· Proven editing and writing skills
· Social media knowledge is essential; in particular, digital advocacy
· Experienced with WordPress and MailChimp (basic knowledge of html preferred)
· SEO
· Experience with graphic design preferred
· Good communication and social skills and the ability to work in a multicultural setting
· Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently
· Preferably available in February 2015 for a minimum of six months (part-time negotiable)
SPARK Offers:
