INTRODUCTION

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a new international organization committed to strong, inclusive green growth. We assist developing and emerging countries with integrating their ambitions for strong economic performance and environmental sustainability with the goal of bringing about poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Headquartered in Seoul, GGGI was established by treaty in June 2012 at the United Nations Rio+20 Conference by an initial group of eighteen nations who share the organization's vision. As of 2014, there are total of 22 Member Countries who joined the organization.

GGGI has a diverse portfolio of programs in developing countries around the world. These in-country programs, together with global products and services, focus on delivering results through an integrated approach of evidence-based green growth planning and implementation aligned to countries' development priorities. The organization also focuses on knowledge development and management activities which build a strong theoretical and empirical basis for green growth, while providing concrete options and guidance for policymakers; as well as building the conditions for public and private green infrastructure investments.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Donor Engagement Specialist will maintain day-to-day relations with existing and potential European bi-lateral donors, multi-lateral donors, including the European Commission and the European based operations of international organizations and civil society organizations.

  • Post holder will provide regular updates of donor priorities and possible strategic alignment with GGGI's mission and delivery model.
  • Develop a detailed European Partnership and donor relations strategy with planning tools to implement the strategy such as donor specific action plan, donor intelligence database, etc.
  • Contribute to network building and cooperation with other international organizations such as the OECD and other Europe-based UN organizations and civil societies.
  • Will also lead preparation of donor materials reflecting GGGI's evolving service offering to be developed under the supervision of in coordination with the headquarters to meet in-country needs of GGGI partners.â??
  • Support the organization of membership expansion activities, donor meetings and visits in Europe
  • Operational engagement with financial institutions will be undertaken with strategic inputs from SPC

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in international relations, international development, public administration, political science or development related field
  • Minimum 7 years of total experience with significant experience in development cooperation, coordination, partnership management, resource mobilization and advocacy
  • Experience and network in international organization or government is a distinct advantage
  • Good knowledge and experience in diplomacy with European donor countries, international organizations and civil societies particularly in the area of green growth Experience in the production of diverse types of written materials for resource mobilization and advocacy with donors and partners
  • Ability to handle confidential and politically sensitive issues in responsible and mature manner
  • Excellent English communication skills, particularly presentation skills and writing
  • Knowledge of other European languages would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of working in multi country context and international setting
