Fairfood is an Amsterdam-based non-profit organisation that envisions a fair & sustainable food system able to adequately produce and provide nutritious food for everyone in a way that preserves the environment and natural resources for future generations, respects human rights and secures a thriving economy for all, thereby contributing to ending hunger and poverty.
It is Fairfood’s mission to improve the socio-economic conditions of vulnerable people, such as smallholder farmers, workers (especially women) and consumers in our food system and to ensure the sustainable production and consumption of food, by influencing the policies and practices of global food and beverage companies and governments.
Purpose of the position:
As *Junior Fundraiser,*your main role will be to support the Fundraising Unit’s efforts and initiatives to increase our income from individual donors. You will have three main responsibilities:
- You will support the Manager Individual Giving in the recruitment and retention of individual donors, developing tailored online messages, emails, newsletters and other tools for donor engagement;
- You will support the Fundraising team/Manager Individual Giving in fundraising events planning, targeting individual donors (organizing events, placing phone calls, writing emails).
- You will support the Fundraising team in administering the Donor Database.
Position within the organisation:
As Junior Fundraiser, you will be working under the direct supervision of the Manager Individual Giving and in close collaboration with the members of the Fundraising Unit. Our team is results-oriented, fun, young and dynamic and we would be very happy to count you with us.
Competences:
Excellent written and spoken Dutch is mandatory • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English • You are able to work well both independently and within a team • You have very good organizational skills and manage your time well • You have affinity with Fairfood’s goals
Knowledge and Experience:
• You are studying at or have graduated from a higher education institution or university or have acquired an equivalent working and thinking level through work experience • A market development background is a plus • Donor relationship management background is a plus

This is an unpaid position which is suited to acquire work experience in this particular field of work and at an NGO. We offer a versatile position within a young international organisation. You will have the freedom and opportunities to continue developing yourself and achieve tangible results. We value our volunteers to whom we offer reimbursement of home-work travel as well as lunch when they are in the office.
Weekly hours: 24 to 32 (Three to four full days per week)
Duration: Three months with the possibility of renewal, starting as soon as possible.
