GOAL is an international humanitarian agency dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the poorest of the poor in the world’s toughest places. GOAL is also supported by individuals, communities, companies, charitable trusts & foundations in Ireland and worldwide. Institutional funding has been increasing over the last three years which reflects the quality and effectiveness of GOAL’s programmes. Public fundraising within Ireland has been under pressure in recent years and as part of the strategic review of public fundraising, GOAL is now seeking to recruit a National Campaigns Manager to help drive aggressive public income plans.
National Campaigns Manager Role
• Working from Dublin Office
• Flexibility around evening & weekend work essential
• Public Income target of €1M
• Reporting to Head of Fundraising
Job Purpose
A key strategic role within the fundraising department, the National Campaigns Manager will lead the development and management of national & community event income for GOAL in Ireland. The Manager will help to grow and develop at least four national fundraising campaigns and oversee the management of smaller community based events which will help drive public fundraising growth in Ireland over the next five years.
Main Duties
Delivery of aggressive national campaign targets through
• Strategic Development planning and review
o Oversee the development of annual plans and on-going monitoring and reporting against KPI’s
o With input from the Head of Fundraising, SMT members and fundraising team, lead the development of a national campaigns calendar to drive growth in existing campaigns (GOAL MILE, GOAL JERSEY DAY)
o Identify new and innovative campaign opportunities and to capitalise on these
o Ensure that GOAL National Campaigns are reviewed quarterly to maximise income over the longer term
o Develop robust, clear and reliable management information that will help refine GOAL’s national campaigns strategy
• Campaign Development
o To build a robust calendar of fundraising campaigns which will be rolled out nationally, engaging corporate, schools and individual fundraisers and donations.
o Develop strategies to drive participant levels from all target audiences
o Liaise with the Corporate Fundraising Manager to maximise campaign and event sponsorship opportunities
o Liaise with internal communications team to maximise awareness and participation in national campaigns
o Liaise with external agencies where appropriate and manage expenditure to drive maximum return on investment
• Management & execution
o Ensure the delivery of national campaigns on time and within budget
o Manage reporting personnel to ensure participation levels are increased and income is maximised
o Ensure GOAL brand is enhanced through the quality of the events for participants
• Monitoring & Evaluation
o Develop robust reporting systems to ensure KPI’s are being reached
o Oversee national campaigns expenditures to ensure highest ROI
o Provide market insight and competitive analysis to inform the GOAL strategy
o Identify market opportunities for GOAL to test
• Other Duties
o To provide support and assistance to the Head of Fundraising and the fundraising team as required
Person Specification
Essential
• Excellent event management skills
• Strong sales experience ideally in cold call environment
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Good commercial acumen
• Strong negotiation skills
• An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• An ability to work on own initiative
• Very strong teamwork
Desirable
• NGO event management experience
• Knowledge of the charity sector/international development sector an advantage
• Commitment and interest in the work of GOAL
