Fairfood International is a non-profit global advocacy group with its head office based in Amsterdam. Our mission is to improve the socio-economic conditions of vulnerable people in the global food system and the sustainable use of natural resources. We work to influence food companies and governments to solve issues affecting farmers, workers, consumers and the environment within food supply chains.
Purpose of the position:
As Junior Fundraiser,your main role will be to support the Fundraising Unit’s efforts and initiatives to increase our income from institutional and individual donors. You will have three main responsibilities:
- You will carry out research on short and long-term strategic institutional fundraising opportunities (identifying potential donors and development trends, writing donor intelligence reports and profiles and updating our donor database);
- You will support the Fundraising team in the writing on grant proposals and concept notes;
- You will support the Fundraising team in its external relations with donors and potential donors (organizing events, placing phone calls, writing emails).
Position within the organisation:
As Junior Fundraiser, you will be working under the direct supervision of the Manager Fundraising and in close collaboration with the members of the Fundraising Unit. Our team is results-oriented, fun, young and dynamic and we would be very happy to count you with us.
Competences:
• You are studying at or have graduated from a higher education institution or university or have acquired an equivalent working and thinking level through work experience. • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. • You have market development background. •Donor relationship management background • Excellent written and spoken Dutch would be a plus • You are able to work well both independently and within a team. • You have very good organizational skills and manage your time well. • You have affinity with Fairfood’s goals.

This is an unpaid position which is suited as an internship to get working experience in our particular field of work and at an NGO. We offer a versatile position within a young international organisation. You will have the freedom and opportunities to continue developing yourself and achieve tangible results. We value our interns and volunteers to whom we offer reimbursement of home-work travel as well as lunch when they are in the office.
Weekly hours: 24 to 32 (Three to four full days per week) or deemed fit your schedule
Duration: Three months with the possibility of renewal, starting as soon as possible.
