In order to strengthen NRC’s ability to respond earlier and faster with prequalified specialists within NRC’s Core Competencies (Education, Food Security, Shelter, WASH, ICLA), the Emergency Response Section operates a Surge Capacity Roster.The Roster consists at present of some 80 stand-by members available from 72 hour notice to NRC in emergencies in new or existing NRC programme countries. In addition, personnel on this roster may be deployed when setting up a new country programme. It may also be used for increasing capacity in exisiting operations in times of emergencies, and gap filling. However, priority will be for emergencies.
NRC is sourcing experts in the area of Logistics.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Implement NRC’s logistical systems, procedures, and policies in an operation.
- Establish or support emergency logistics and distribution systems in emergencies.
- Ensure that transportation, vehicle and asset management, procurement, warehousing, and other logistical processes take place in compliance with NRC Logistical Handbook and donor requirements.
- Recruiting, training and establishing the logistics team/department in new NRC operations.
- Management of the logistics team at country office.
- Training of line managers with logistical responsibilities.
- Work with program managers to help design projects, develop proposals and budgets, and plan activities including procurement planning, vehicle needs planning, warehouse distribution planning.
- Ensure anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in procedures and trainings.
- Regular analysis and reports writing.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior Logistics Manager.
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal. French an asset.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proven communication, interpersonal, representation, negotiation and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- NRC experience an asset.
- MBA desired.
- Masters degree in Logistics desired.
