Job Title: Communications Officer (Internship)
Location: London + ability to work remotely
Duration: 4 - 6 months (start date Monday 17th November)
Days:
- 2.5 days working from the office
- Availability to update social media on a daily basis
- 1st Saturday of each month required attendance at monthly volunteers’ meeting
Hours:
- 10 am – 5pm on full days working at the office
- Around 20-40 minutes daily to update social media
- 2:30 – 5:00 pm on the first Saturday of each month
This is an unpaid internship placement.
About EMERGENCY UK
EMERGENCY is a humanitarian assistance NGO that provides free, high-quality medical care to victims of war, poverty and landmines. EMERGENCY runs programmes in six countries; operating principally in conflict and post-conflict countries, such as Afghanistan and the Central African Republic.
EMERGENCY UK supports EMERGENCY’s work through fundraising and awareness raising in the UK, as well as recruiting UK medical staff for its hospitals abroad. This is a critical time for EMERGENCY as we are running an Ebola treatment centre in Sierra Leone and are expanding our work there.
ROLE OBJECTIVE
- To update EMERGENCY UK’s social media platforms
- To design communication campaigns
- To write our monthly newsletter
- To write copy for the website and publicity materials
- To provide support to our Campaigns Officer
- To engage with journalists and deal with press enquires
