Responding to the humanitarian crises in the Middle East requires humanitarian actors with the organisational capacities and personnel competent to meet the needs of the affected communities.
RedR UK is looking for experienced, qualified training professionals in the Middle East to join our pool of Associate Trainers delivering capacity building activities for humanitarians, especially those working in Syria or with the Syrian population in neighbouring countries.
If you are a training professional with 5 years or more of field based humanitarian experience and you are based in the Middle East, RedR UK would encourage you to apply. Applications from Arabic speaking training professionals are particularly welcome!
Associate trainers are listed on RedR UK global consultant database. When RedR UK intends to run a training event, Associate Trainers with the necessary profile are contacted regarding their availability. They are paid a daily rate for preparation and delivery. RedR UK cannot guarantee regular training opportunities. However, given current levels of demand we anticipate there will be many opportunities in the coming months.
We are particularly looking for trainers with experience and proficiency in security, project management, humanitarian principles and practice or technical areas such as nutrition, WASH, needs assessment, proposal and report writing, monitoring and evaluation, disaster risk reduction and logistics. As part of the selection process, you will be expected to demonstrate the ability to design and/or revise training curriculum, deliver group presentations, manage group dynamics and enable groups to learn together.
The following proficiencies are desirable in RedR UK training teams:
- Identify and analyse the learning needs of the Humanitarian/ Development Sector, both organisational learning needs and those of individuals
- Develop effective training that addresses the needs identified
- Effectively plan the logistical and administrative arrangements of a training event
- Draft training documents for trainers and develop learning materials for participants
- Develop an inclusive environment conducive to adult learning
- Effectively facilitate experiential and active learning activities
- Support learning throughout the training and provide feedback
- Work in collaborative relationships with other trainers
- Design an evaluation process and use feedback to adjust training delivery, both during the course and to inform subsequent course design
- Assess participants' reaction, learning and the impact on work performance
- Reflect on personal practice and that of peers to identify development needs
