For our company we are looking for a new International Operations Manager to strengthen our international team.

Basic Water Needs (BWN) is a privately held company that produces and supplies Household Water Treatment Solutions (HWTS) to developing countries. We strongly believe in private solutions for global challenges. Our customers include NGOs as well as private customers in the B2B segment.

With our headquarters based in the center of Amsterdam, and our factories in Pondicherry, South India and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, we strive to meet our ultimate goal; to make safe drinking water available, affordable and simple in every household.

Position

As International Operations Manager you will be responsible for our factories in India, Ethiopia and possibly other (African or Asian) countries over the coming years. There will a strong focus on process optimization (production and general organizational), improving and safeguarding quality and management of our supplier network. Furthermore, you will play an important role in improving our product portfolio and developing new products. You will get a first hand opportunity to create impact and improve people’s lives by creating access to safe drinking water. You will be working in an extremely diverse and international environment dealing with cultures on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• · Production management
• · Quality control and assurance
• · Supplier network development and management
• · Product development
• · Spend substantial times abroad at our factories, with a strong focus on India
• · Report directly to Managing Director

Candidate Profile

• · University graduate, preferably engineering
• · Minimum of 5 years experience in production and/or operations
• · Passion for developing countries
• · Willingness to live abroad for a prolonged period
• · Culturally sensitive and excellent inter cultural communication skills
• · Team player
• · Stress resistant
• · Well travelled (Asia, Africa)
• · Excellent English language skills, Preferably Dutch, Tamil and/or Hindi
• · Ambitious, entrepreneurial and eager to make a social impact
