Job description
- The Security Director represents security in NRC's Senior Management Meetings and reports to the Director of Field Operations and the Secretary General. The position will have the overall responsibility for: Management of security section, including line management of Head Office based staff (3) and roving security advisers (2)
- Providing strategic and operational direction on security risk management at the global level
- NRC’s crisis management preparedness
- Oversight of compliance with security risk management policies and guidelines
- Support implementation and local adaptation of NRC security management framework and best practice in country operations and for expert deployments.Recommend modalities for improvement
- Continuously seek to introduce, adapt, and strengthen accountability mechanisms and routines within the security and line management structure
- Overall responsible for gathering information and generating statistics and analysis on security trends at the global level
- Be a Center of Excellence on security risk management, provide guidance and capacity building across NRC
- Initiate actions to systematically build a strong risk management culture in NRC
- Represent NRC in relevant networks
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience within the humanitarian field; enabling humanitarian response in difficult context; security and risk management.
- Experience from managing humanitarian programs and operations in the field will be valued.
- Professional knowledge and proven experience in critical incident management in humanitarian operations
- Relevant educational background
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal. French and or Arabic would be an asset
