The Africa Director will play a leading role in the programmes department, overseeing all our Africa work. The Africa Director will help Conciliation Resources continue to be a dynamic, innovative, developing and reflective peacebuilding organisation. S/he will contribute to the organisational leadership, representing our core values and approaches to conflict transformation and will ensure that opportunities for programme development are pursued in-line with our strategic plans. S/he will be a leading representative of Conciliation Resources in our wider-ranging external relations. Reporting to the Director of Programmes, s/he will provide direct line management support and supervision to three members of staff.

Candidates should have extensive and applied international experience in peacebuilding, thorough knowledge of conflict resolution theory and practice and of organisational development. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of conflicts in the African context and successful management and leadership experience in a comparable organisation. Fluency in both spoken and written English and French is essential, knowledge of other African languages would be an advantage. Conciliation Resources values diversity and inclusion.
