Events Fundraising Officer
Role
• Working from Dublin Office
• Flexibility around evening & weekend work is essential and necessary
• Reporting to National Campaigns Manager
• Direct Reports: Management of volunteer community fundraisers

Job Purpose

An important role within the fundraising department, the Events Fundraising Officer will help to implement and drive growth of both National and local community events run by GOAL. The Officer will help to grow and develop at least four national fundraising campaigns and run and manage local GOAL events which will help drive public fundraising growth in Ireland over the next five years.

Main Duties

Delivery of aggressive events income targets through

• Strong execution and delivery of National events
o Drive participation from individuals, corporates and schools in GOAL’s National Fundraising campaigns including but not limited to GOAL MILE & GOAL JERSEY DAY.
o Identify new and innovative national campaign opportunities and to capitalise on these to help grow participation and income
o Present, clear and reliable management information that will help refine GOAL’s national campaigns strategy

• Local Event Development
o To build and manage a calendar of local fundraising campaigns which will be engage corporate, schools and individual fundraisers and donations.
o Develop strategies to drive participant levels from all target audiences
o Liaise with the Corporate Fundraising Manager to maximise campaign and event sponsorship opportunities
o Liaise with internal communications team to maximise awareness and participation in national campaigns
o Liaise with external agencies where appropriate and manage expenditure to drive maximum return on investment

• Management & execution
o Ensure the delivery of events on time and within budget
o Management of volunteers and event participants
o Ensure GOAL brand is enhanced through the quality of the events for participants

• Monitoring & Evaluation
o Ensure delivery of robust reporting to ensure KPI’s are being reached
o Oversee events expenditures to ensure highest ROI
o Provide market insight and competitive analysis to inform the GOAL strategy
o Identify market opportunities for GOAL to test

• Other Duties
o To provide support and assistance to the Head of Fundraising and the fundraising team as required

Person Specification
Essential
• Excellent event management skills
• Strong sales experience ideally in cold call environment
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Good commercial acumen
• Strong negotiation skills
• An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• An ability to work on own initiative
• Very strong teamwork
Desirable
• NGO event management experience
• Knowledge of the charity sector/international development sector an advantage
• Commitment and interest in the work of GOAL
