Purpose of the Role:

If you’ve extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation policies, systems, methods and approaches we have the perfect platform for your skills at ActionAid. As Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor we will look to you to strengthen organisational performance and champion a culture of accountability to ensure we continue to work efficiently at tackling whatever is keeping poor people trapped in poverty.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

As Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor you will work closely with teams in ActionAid and help set monitoring and evaluation standards as well as develop guidelines, processes and tools to assess our effectiveness within the framework of our international strategy. You will also help progress learning and capacity building mechanisms, identifying good practice inside and outside the sector to inform shared learning across the organization. Important will be the ability to deliver innovation and continuous improvement to ensure we become a leader in the sector.

Desired Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

A Masters (or equivalent experience) in development related social sciences, you will have excellent knowledge of research techniques and substantial experience in international development/human rights programming. You will have a good understanding of monitoring and evaluation policies, systems, methods and approaches, ideally gained in an international development or NGO environment. An effective communicator you will possess strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a deep understanding of and commitment to human rights based approach including women’s rights.
